In February 2026, Awehness ran a pilot public engagement event that creatively shared research and gathered public feedback on climate and health intersections in Cape Town for the Cascading Climate and Health Risks in Cities (CASCADE) project at the University of Cape Town. CASCADE works across five African cities to advance responses to urban climate and health risks.

The CASCADE team hopes to create interactive and arts-based public spaces that make climate and health topics more tangible and relatable.
